The HSF has had an active interest in the health system for several years, and it has submitted comments on the National Health Green and White Papers. The Helen Suzman Foundation believes that in order to achieve the objectives of the Draft Mining Charter, especially to broaden black ownership and employment in the mining sector, the focus needs to be redirected at making use of a company tax and profit-based royalty system so as to address government requirements and at the same time to develop an efficiently run, sensibly regulated and growing mining industry.
