Press Release: SCA Hands Down Judgment In Helen Suzman Foundation V Mcbride And Others

The Supreme Court of Appeal has handed down judgment in Helen Suzman Foundation v McBride and Others, a matter in which the Helen Suzman Foundation became involved to help strengthen the independence of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.

Last week, the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) handed down judgment in Helen Suzman Foundation v McBride and Others, a matter in which the Helen Suzman Foundation (HSF) became involved to help strengthen the independence of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate. The HSF is pleased that the matter has been considered by the SCA, and that the SCA saw fit to set aside the cost order awarded against the HSF in the High Court. The HSF and its lawyers are currently studying the SCA’s judgment in order to determine the appropriate way forward. The SCA’s judgment can be found here.
