Press Release: Judgment Delivered In The Matter Of Manuel Chang’s Extradition

On 7 December, the Gauteng High Court held that Mozambique’s former Minister of Finance, Manuel Chang, should be extradited to the United States to stand trial for corruption there. The HSF was cited as a respondent to these proceedings, which were initiated by a collection of Mozambican civil society organisations and sought to challenge the South African Government’s decision to extradite Chang to Mozambique.
