It was with sadness that we record the passing of Lord Robin Renwick. Since 2004 we have been proud to call Lord Renwick one of our Patrons; a long-standing arrangement entirely fitting not only because his remarkable behind-the-scenes role in our country’s transition to democracy, but also because of his great and enduring friendship with Helen Suzman

The Helen Suzman Foundation (HSF) is dismayed by Cabinet’s decision to adopts as final the White Paper on the Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection: Towards a Complete Overhaul of the Migration System in South Africa (White Paper). This, despite strenuous objections from numerous civil society organizations, including HSF.
